Best Dressed: SAG Awards 2009
January 27, 2009 §
With the low-key SGA awards, a lot of stars strayed away from the expected labels in favor of more fashion-friendly names. Among them: Prada (a high-profile but rarely red-carpet-worn brand) Jason Wu, and the old standard Azzedine Alaia. Sometimes the risks paid off (see my choices) but other times they fell flat. But only the best ones made it in to my list.
Giambattista Valli was a perfect choice for Amy Adams, and I'm hoping this isn't the last we'll see of him.

Very rarely do you see Michael Kors on a red carpet, so Laura Linney's peachy pink one-strapped gown is a nice change of pace.
Angelina Jolie's Max Azria was casual but refined.
Picking a different fit and color worked out well for Christina Applegate, who wore Emanuel Ungaro.
America Ferrera's Vera Wang gown makes a statement without standing out.
Former model Keisha Whitaker (wife of Forest Whitaker) looks sleek and understated in Rafael Cennamo.
Rosario Dawson's Dolce & Gabbana dress is just good because I say it is.
